According to Article 20 of the Treaty of Lisbon, EU citizenship is additional and separate to national citizenship. Presently, there are no provisions for removing this citizenship and its associated rights from individuals, regardless of whether their nation leaves the EU.
It'll be a long haul but it has to start somewhere.
So I write to ask you, respectfully, to take up an initiative your predecessor declined to support in your negotiations on our future relationship with the EU. The initiative is for a form of Associate Citizenship – for those who want it.

EU citizens across the UK were denied their vote in the European Elections in May 2019. There is clear Government responsibility, yet it will not hold a public inquiry despite several successful petitions that between them gathered over 150,000 signatures.
We are taking legal action to prompt the police to take action in relation to the electoral offences committed during the 2016 EU referendum and to explain why nothing has been done.
