The AA says disabled drivers may leave themselves open to parking fines.

Disabled drivers are being warned that their blue badges may not be accepted in European holiday destinations this summer due to an “outrageous” Brexit hangover.

British disability blue badges are no longer being recognised in major holiday destinations across Europe thanks to Brexit, the government has admitted.

Although the government promised to negotiate their recognition with individual European nations, a year later there is still uncertainty over the most popular holiday destinations.

Popular destinations such as Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Greece will no longer recognise UK badges.

Britain has been outside the EU’s legal regime for a year and has faced a number of impacts.
