According to Article 20 of the Treaty of Lisbon, EU citizenship is additional and separate to national citizenship. Presently, there are no provisions for removing this citizenship and its associated rights from individuals, regardless of whether their nation leaves the EU.
It'll be a long haul but it has to start somewhere.
So I write to ask you, respectfully, to take up an initiative your predecessor declined to support in your negotiations on our future relationship with the EU. The initiative is for a form of Associate Citizenship – for those who want it.
"Please do not turn your back on this last chance to stop us turning in on ourselves. Allow us to check whether we want to proceed with this Brexit. Let us decide in a People's Vote."
Research done by Boris Johnson’s own government shows that a No Deal Brexit will mean riots on the streets, rises in food prices, and reduced medical supplies. It’s up to us to stop him – and together, we will.
